All Quality people have one thing common they pick quality people. And it is also important how to pick quality people.

Sanjay Leela Bhanshali played safe with choosing most popular and branded faces for his movie- Aishwarya, Shahrukh, and Madhuri. On the other hand Bhanshali picked comparatively not so popular but quality people. They together made the movie really classic. DEvdas is one of the costliest movie of the time  which is a hard work of hundreds of unknown people.Out of those, two people worth mentioning here are - Musician -Ismail Darbar and Lyricist-Nusrat Badr. What these people remind us - quality shines and endures time. There are many musicians who has given music in hundreds of  movies but his music in  two movies( hum dil de chuke sanam and Devdas)outweighs thier hunderds. Same we can say about this little known lyricist. They provided those big stars an  atmosphere that made their expression- the best.

Hamesha tumko chaaha aur chaaha kuch bhi nahin(always loved you , still feel, i have  not loved you suffciently.)

The words are matchless. It difficult to coin these type of poetic lines.

 Background chorus singers are praiseworthy, kavita krishnamurthy soulful. Udit  Narayan is good, after a long some musician  has used Shahnai very well. It gives last emotional punch in the ending of the song alongwith hun guna hun guna hun guna, hun guna and chaha chaha chaha chaha....  that causes slight ache in heart,

 All character in the song are at their best. It never happend that this song paased without  filling tears in my eyes.

The song  - zindagi kaisi hai paheli.... from Hindi classic ANAND  is one my favorite  that  i listen on rare kind of mood , it  pinches my heart instead of soothing voice and music. A rare gem given by Manna De, Shalil chowdhary and  lyrics by Yogesh. The song  has made the movie immortal though song is about death.

ROCKSTAR- MOHIT CHOUHAN

I have been reading a book on painting lessons. the author says - to express  something as a form; it is not necessary to put each and every  detail, sometimes too much detail mars the beauty of  the painting.

so it is very important to know how much detail is enough to express a form beautifully. I think same is true for music too.

A R Rahman is without doubt a gifted musician but I think , he should downsize his orchestra to make his music more fit with  ENOUGH space for  SINGER as well as LYRICS.
If he is too much passionate about music only he should  opt for making symphonies that lack both vocals and lyrics.

  what we call music in common sense is combination of music, singer and lyrics. In this combination music is prime, followed by singer  and lyrics. but each part needs its expression without hindering other, rather should complement each others.

why i am saying all this?

after listening  the song "aur ho" from Rock star.

 a superb song I heard after a long gap from any new movie. music is extra ordinary but it  has over shadowed lyrics and vocals of Mohit Chouhan.The hindi- urdu words are so stretched and minced for the will of the musician that they have not received the expression they deserved.

 I have written the name of irshad kamil on the wall, if everything goes well , he would be the lyricist of the this decade.

 I hear “aur ho” but it could not get my attention,

but one day I heard the line   

 Main hasrat mein ik Uljhi dore hua.. Suljha de..ho ho

Main dastaak hoon Tu band kiwadoon sa Khulja re..ho.

this is the  only line in whole song where music, vocal and lyrics  are fully visible.

the vocal of lovely lady from Bosnia is sweet but does not go with the emotion of deep pain. the most extra ordinary thing is- MOHIT CHOUHAN.

 With this song  he has jumped to the next level of singing, it’s  my feeling that he has left far  behind ; all the existing male singers of the hindi cinema.

In spite of all the shortcomings for MOHIT CHOUHAN`s sake , I love this song too much.

The way he sings the line  in high note- Iss lamhe..kya kar doon mein Jo mujhe chain mile Aaraam mile -is just fantastic and

Ranbir`s expression in movie for this line is just superb.  Over all worth to include the song  in musical blood people.

I have tested it Ok as I  heard it more than 100 times without feeling any boredom.

I have been out of gear. I mean my musical journey seemed derailed.  Whatever collection I have, I tried all but could not find solace. I thought, I have lost the taste of music.  Listening few favorite one but it was just not as passionate as I have relation with music.  Suddenly an old song came to rescue me and put me on the musical track. 

I am listening to this song in a loop.
 And suppose God asks - tell me the song for which you love to die.
 At the moment   I would say- BETAAB DIL KI TAMMANNA YAHI HAI.
Lata Ji once again totally captivated my ears in sweet tone, Kaifi sahib`s  touchy words and wonderful  score by  Madan Mohan.  I recognized this   musicians quite late.  A class musician of own kind

Mere ghar ana zindagi- A distinct voice that singles him out of the other singers.  This song is a combination of two less talked artists- brilliant musician Jaidev and soulful  singer Bhupinder. But those who know their work know that both of them have their own niche in music world. Here Anuradha paudwal is her best with Bhupen.  Age less song, lovely lyrics by Sudashan fakir other less known shayer.

I love the line- Maein Saanson Ki Raftaar Se Jaan Lungi , Havaaon Ki Khushboo Se Pehchaan Lungi.

 Generally best love songs are solo but this duet proves otherwise.

Dev Anand -A Romance with life

people remembering Dev Anand  in different ways, by different songs,  by different aspects of his life.The most prevalent  line to define him is-" main har fikar ko dhunwain main udarata  chala gaya."
But i remember him as a lover who could not find his love in spite of being damn smart, rich and famous.
This shows; you can not get everything you desire and some times even  what you desire the most. He could not marry his love Surraiya.
 He can best be remembered for his role as Raju guide in Hindi  classic- GUIDE.
There are many good  songs for which he can be remembered .
